Doorways to Agriculture, produced by
Texas Farm Bureau and
presented by
Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, is really going to be ginning in 2025
with the introduction of its mini cotton gin to its already fascinating display.
The cotton gin is a machine that
separates cotton fibers from seeds, leaves, sticks, and outside elements such
as soil and other debris. Because of Eli Whitney's revolutionary invention of
the cotton gin in 1794, the processing of cotton is more efficient and
supplies a cleaner, higher quality fiber that results in more t-shirts, blue
jeans, blankets, pillows, and even dollar bills. Texas Farm Bureau's Doorways
to Agriculture invites you to come take a look at the “Mini Cotton Gin
Demonstration” and learn more about the ginning process. The shirt you are
wearing and the socks on your feet can likely be traced back to a cotton
plant!
