"Rooster" has been ridden on the ranch for the last 4 years. He is the kind of ranch horse every camp man wants. You can leave him turned out for 6 months, grab him up and go rope a full-grown cow and he'll handle her like a baby calf. Rooster has been used in all aspects of ranching such as dragging calves, sorting in the gate and in the herd, roping anything big or small outside and has also been ridden in ranch rodeos.

"Leonard" is a staple at the Panther Creek Division of the A Bar Ranch. Coming out of Turner and Sarah Armitage’s string, he has been a go-to for the big days of work. He is out of an A Bar favorite mare Cross Bell Shiner and is a full sibling to A Bar Ranch’s stallion Cowboys Boonshine. His sweet disposition and flashy eye appeal has made him a favorite for anyone to ride. His ability on the ranch or in the arena proves his quality of mind and athleticism. We have had “LP” on our Texas Panhandle ranch since his 2-year-old year. He began his successful show career as a 3-year-old and has since accrued over $61,000 in the National Reined Cow Horse Association, Stock Horse of Texas, and Ranch Horse Association of America arenas. LP is by $12 million sire Once In A Blu Boon and out of a High Brow Cat daughter, a leading EquiStat magic cross— he was bred to be good! LP has spent many days working outside, too. We use him to doctor wheat pasture cattle, and his good mind and work ethic make him a top-shelf ranch horse. LP’s strong build and show horse handle make him a nice head horse and he is jackpot-ready. He would suit any numbered or younger roper. LP is a quiet, gentle horse. His demeanor and show pen experience make him a good fit for any level of rider. He would be a great high school rodeo, non pro or amateur horse. LOT 4 — TRR MEDICINAL GIN

If you are looking for something that is proven, this gelding comes off the top shelf of Tongue River Ranch lineage. "Fox Trot" is a seasoned ranch horse with many miles under his hat —doctoring wheat pasture cattle, dragging calves to the fire and sorting cattle in the gate. Riggin Johnson has been using him all year at ranch rodeos and hauled him to local jackpot ropings. He is quiet in the head and heel box and has been started as a breakaway horse. "Fox Trot" has many great qualities, a big stop, cowy, and a smooth traveler. Riggin compliments this gelding for having a big personality, being gentle, and how he enjoys the company of people. He is a son of Medicinal Mecom Blue who has 6.5 AQHA performance points in tie-down roping and versatility ranch horse and money earned at ranch horse competitions. Ruger is from the string of Daly Welch.  Ruger is a big stout gentle gelding that has excellent conformation and bone and weighs 1,250lbs.  He is easy to catch, easy to show, easy to trailer and an all-around easy horse.  He is just one of those “likes-people” horses.  He loves to get attention from Dalys kids.  Daly has used Ruger in all phases of ranch work and his goto horse for any time of job.   He is a smooth traveling horse that is light between your hands.  Daly has used him in Ranch Rodeo competitions and has limited experience in heading and healing out of the box.  You can rope anything and he can handle it.    He would be good for experience youth or amateur, but almost anyone is going to enjoy Ruger. He is a very versatile horse that is the same every time you saddle up.

"Alf" is a gentle, stout, and easy minded gelding that we raised here on the ranch. We’ve used him at Headquarters as well as our New Mexico and Falls County Divisions, and he’s mounted a lot of cowboys of different ages and skills. He’s drug calves, doctored yearlings, and covered a lot of different types of terrain. He has the background and potential to fit into a rope horse program. His dam, Redwhiteandmecomblue, is a big, strong cutting-bred mare who won almost $35,000 in NCHA and comes from an impressive line of cutting and reined cowhorse producers. Alf has been an important part of our ranch family and holds special importance to April. This attractive, dark sorrel gelding is by $12 million sire Stevie Rey Von, and out of an NCHA money-earning mare. “Redman” has been with Durrett cowboy Ryan Byrd since he was two years old. He is gentle, sound, and has been used extensively on the ranch, prowling, sorting, dragging calves, and doctoring. He is also a money earner in the Ranch Horse Association of America, AQHA, and National Reined Cow Horse Association.

"Lil Johnny" is an exceptional horse that is gentle for anyone that can ride. He is General Manager Clint Jackson's no.1 mount. He is extremely cowy and rides on a loose rein. He has a smooth trot and rocking chair lope. He has drug a ton of calves and sorted more cattle than most see in a lifetime. Lil Johnny has been started in the roping pen and is pretty nice to look at. He has been hauled for the last two years to many WRCA Rodeo's and open rodeos including the WRCA Finals. He is capable of being shown in Ranch Horse Association of America or cow horse competitions.

"Scooby" is an incredibly gentle and talented gelding. He is the most steady, dependable horse we have had the pleasure of being around. He is naturally quiet and confident and stays that way whether he's ridden daily or has months off. Scooby has had reining training, been roped off of both from the box and in the pasture, and has shown in ranch versatility. “Lee John” has been used all over the historic Pitchfork Ranch and is no stranger to a long day of work. He is a smooth traveler who has sorted cattle, cut out dries and drug calves to the fire. Lee John has been used to gather and sort mares and Clay has used him to help start colts. He is a stout gelding and has been roped off in the arena in the heading and heeling. He takes on all tasks with a level head and is always quiet.

“Big John” is a big-boned, cowy bay roan gelding that has done everything on the ranch, from dragging calves to loading cattle in the trailer. He is good-minded, gentle and easy to be around with a very kind eye. He is a smooth traveler with a good handle that has been hauled all over the country and used as a turn back horse.
