AIM FOR EDUCATION is a $20,000 merit-based scholarship program for Texas 4-H & FFA members participating in the FWSSR's Jr. Shooting Sports Competition. The program tests high school senior competitors on a robust curriculum covering shooting and wildlife/land conservation topics. Top-scoring contestants on the online exam will advance to an in-person presentation to a 3 judge panel.
The Aim for Education scholarship program will also be subject to the General Rules and Regulations of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show found here. (2024 Show Rules, 2025 Show Rules coming late summer)

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Open to high school seniors
  • No cost to enter
  • Must have competed in the FWSSR Junior Shooting Sports Competition for 2 years (inclusive of the current year, does not need to be consecutive)
  • Online exam with top scores advancing to in person presentation

schedule:

  • Study materials released on or before June 14
  • Monday, September 9 - Friday, September 13 (Online Proctored Exam)
  • Saturday, October 5 - Finalist's Presentation to Judges Panel

format:

  • 50-Question Online Exam
  • Top 10 Scoring Contestants Advance to Finalist Presentations
  • Participants are encouraged to be neatly dressed but due to facility limitations, presentable shooting attire is acceptable.


2024 ONLINE TESTING DATES


STUDY MATERIALS WILL BE POSTED HERE ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, JUNE 14.

Online testing is scheduled between Monday, September 9 - Friday, September 13. Competitors may take the exam at any one-sitting during that time frame.

Educational materials will be available on this website on or before Friday, June 14.

  • Enter to participate in the Junior Shooting Sports Competition (must have participated in 2022 OR 2023 as well compete in this years' competition) CLICK HERE TO ENTER
  • Select "YES" in the Junior Shooting Sports Application when asked if you would like to enter AIM FOR EDUCATION
  • SEPTEMBER 1 DEADLINE FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS
  • Only Texas 4-H and FFA members may enter
  • Must be a high school senior, have competed in either 2022 or 2023 Junior Shooting Sports Competition and are competing in the 2024 Jr. Shooting Sports Competition

Eligible participants will be allowed ONE OPPORTUNITY to take the online exam and must participate in the Jr. Shooting Sports Competition.
