Junior Heifer Show To be eligible, heifers must be validated with the Texas 4-H/FFA Heifer Validation Program administered by the Texas Agrilife Extension Service and the Texas Education Agency, division of Agricultural Science and Technology. • SHOW ORDER: Sat., January 26: 8:00 a.m. Maine-Anjou, Brangus, Shorthorn 1:00 p.m. Beefmaster, Polled Hereford, Hereford 1:30 p.m. Charolais Sun., January 27: 8:00 a.m. Limousin, Red Angus 1:00 p.m. Angus, Santa Gertrudis Mon., January 28 : 8:00 a.m. Brahman, Simmental 1:00 p.m. Other Recorded Heifers, Simbrah • Other Recorded Heifers Show: Open to Bos taurus genetics (English and European breeds) and composites of various Bos taurus beef breeds. Heifer must be recorded in one of the following beef breed associations: Braunvieh, Charolais, Chianina, Gelbvieh, Limousin, Maine-Anjou, Red Angus, Shorthorn or Simmental . • A copy of the original Registration Certificate must be submitted with Junior Heifer entry application at the time of entry. Exhibitor must have original registration certificate available for inspection at the Junior Heifer registration verification on January 25. • Heifer Superintendent’s Beef Challenge – - In 2018, ten scholarships were awarded ranging from $6,000-$16,000 each for a total of $86,000. - Complete details will be available on our website, fwssr.com on October 1. • Junior Heifer Judges: - Beefmaster Brahman, Brangus, Santa Gertrudis, Simbrah: Jirl Buck – Madill, Oklahoma - Charolais, Red Angus, Shorthorn, Simmental: Matt Leo – Snelling, California - Angus, Hereford, Limousin, Maine-Anjou, Polled Hereford, Other Recorded Heifers: Jim Bloomberg – Berwick, Illinios, C. Junior Steer Show • Arrival: Tuesday, February 5: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. • Arrivals will begin at Trinity Park. Trinity Park will not be available until 8:00 a.m. Monday, February, 4. • Judge: Chris Mullinix – Manhattan, Kansas D. Junior Wether Lamb Show • Weight/Breed cards due to Superintendent: 10:30 a.m. , Saturday, January 26 • Show: Sunday, January 27 & Monday, January 28 • Judge: Steve Sturtz – San Angelo, Texas E. Junior Barrow Show • Arrival: Monday, February 4: Noon to 7:00 p.m. at Farrington Field • Farrington Field will not be available until 8:00 a.m. Monday, February 4. • Weight/Breed cards due to Superintendent 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5. • SHOW ORDER: Wednesday, February 6: Black/OPB, Duroc, Hampshire, White/OPB Thursday, February 7: Yorkshire, Crossbreds, Grand and Reserve Grand Champions • Judge: Ben Moyer – Wauseon, Ohio F. Junior Dairy Cattle Show • Classification – Other Purebreds – Open to registered Ayrshire, Guernsey and Milking Shorthorn Dairy Cattle.
